HUD Celebrates Homeownership in Chicago

The event is one of the department’s “House Parties” to support aspiring homeowners.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) hosted a recent event promoting homeownership in Chicago, providing resources for aspiring homeowners. The department began throwing these “House Parties” in early 2023, starting in Washington, D.C., and plans to continue hosting events like these in other American cities. The events are intended to address the low homeownership rates in minority communities.

“We want to ensure that Chicagoans who wish to own a home have access to the resources and tools they need,” said HUD Great Lakes Regional Administrator Diane Shelley. “We reflect on the importance of homeownership as a tool for wealth-building and stability. HUD is dedicated to eliminating barriers and putting people on the path to homeownership.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Administrator Shelley as she heads HUD in the Great Lakes region.
  • For Secretary Marcia Fudge as she supports the promotion of home ownership in minority communities.
